While in
Geneva, I was involved in a pilot project within the Department of international
Protection, The "Refugee Status determination Project" which consists in
recruiting and sending international consultant to the Field in order to assist
the staff already in place in conducting refugee status determination
interviews. One of the responsibilities assigned to me consisted in analysing
the current situation in a specific country, which had made a request to be
given human resources to our unit. |

The World
Bank and the IMF play a vital role in the progress of Ethiopia. There is
ongoing development strategies in all sectors, at present the most pressing
issues are food shortages and the burden of AIDS and HIV. Both organisations
feel satisfied with Ethiopia’s implementation of structural reforms, except for
the continuos violations of human rights. However all the pillars of
international aid community have faced criticism for focusing too much and
economic liberation and overlooking the more vital issues such as famine. |
